You have two options when planting your garden. One option is to fill the empty space with lots of plants. This will give it “instant impact,” but you’ll be sacrificing some of them once the plants continue to grow to their mature size. The other option is to space things out so that when they mature, they’re filling the space properly.
Which sounds better to you?
Planting for instant impact is going to look better early on. This will cost more of course. And as mentioned above, some of the plants will not be able to survive because the area will eventually be over planted.
Delayed gratification probably means that you’re planning your garden and as part of that, you know how much space everything needs. While it is delayed, it is quite gratifying to see the final product in a year or two.
I lean towards delayed gratification. I like getting things planted and watching them slowly grow and slowly fill the space.
